Avodah Farm (pronounced AH-vo-DAH) is a small family farm nestled among the hills and coulees of West-Central Wisconsin’s Pepin County. 2016 will be our fifth season sharing our high-quality, sustainably grown produce with members in the Twin Cities area through our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) memberships. This will be our second season on our new farm, located two and a half miles from Stockholm, WI, and only 60 scenic miles from the Twin Cities on the Great River Road (Hwy 35). We own 126 acres of woods, pasture, ponds and crop fields and grow about 3 acres of vegetables, along with 9 acres of cover crops for soil health and stability.
Avodah is a Hebrew word whose meaning encompasses labor, worship, and service. This is exactly what farming is to us: meaningful, fulfilling work through which we revere our Creator and serve our community. We strive to be faithful stewards of Creation, living out the Jewish principle of Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World) by rebuilding our topsoil, our local economy, and the connections between rural and urban areas. We hope you will join us on this journey and we look forward to being your farmers!
